5 Stunning AI Personalization Campaign Wins

Personalization is the holy grail for marketers. The more personalized your campaigns, the higher your ROI.

And according to Adam Reader, Head of Strategy at M&C Saatchi One-to-One, this is where AI comes into its own.

Here are 5 examples of AI-powered, hyperpersonalized marketing campaigns.

Examples of AI-powered marketing personalization

#WORLDWITHOUTNATURE

  1. Carvana's revolutionary Joyride campaign: AI whisked customers away on a virtual, personalized 'joyride’ to celebrate the day they bought their car. The result? A staggering 1.3 million videos, each a unique story.

  2. Coca-Cola: Coca-Cola’s AI-powered campaign lets customers generate personalized Christmas cards to share with friends and family.

  3. Duolingo Max: Duolingo's new conversational AI features "Explain My Answer" and "Roleplay" inject interactive excitement into language. It uses detailed feedback and character chat—all powered by GPT-4.

  4. #WORLDWITHOUTNATURE: A clever WWF campaign creatively raises awareness using an AI app to erase nature from logos—then asks people to share the jarring results.

  5. Shoe Mirror: Futuristic storefront mirrors match shoe ads to passing shoppers with AI. This lets them virtually try on shoes and snap a QR code to buy, seamlessly blending online and offline retail.

BEHIND THE SCENES

AI Saves Indeed’s Marketing Department $10 Million

In an interview with Business Insider, Indeed's CMO Jessica Jensen revealed that Indeed has tapped into AI to boost marketing productivity.

By leveraging GPT-4 APIs, the job-search giant has accelerated content creation by 75% and saved $10 million. Indeed is also leveraging tools like Midjourney to slash graphic design timelines from weeks to days.

According to Indeed's economists, GenAI can competently perform 85% of skills required in marketing roles—think copywriting, visuals, videos, and more.

What this means for Indeed’s 400+ marketers remains to be seen.

However, it’s not all been plain sailing. In one test, Indeed asked an AI tool to write up a few sentences addressing workplace gender bias. Unfortunately, it narrowly focused on men and women, excluding underrepresented groups.

To sidestep these risks, Indeed takes certain safeguards:

  • Rigorous fact/bias checking because large language models can perpetuate outdated norms

  • Content experts oversee final reviews to lock in Indeed's inclusive brand voice

Every company using AI should follow suit.

Harness Marketing Genius With the Latest GPTs

GPTs are a new way for anyone to create a tailored version of ChatGPT to be more helpful in their daily life or at work.

We created our very own Content Marketing GPT last week, which you can access HERE.

This week, we’ve been trying out some alternatives. Here are some of our favorites:

(TERRIFYING) THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Could ChatGPT Go Dark?

If you haven't heard already, OpenAI has had the craziest week…

CEO Sam Altman ultimately left the company. And now 743 of the ~770 OpenAI employees have signed a petition threatening to quit in protest.

ChatGPT has been experiencing serious issues over the past couple of weeks. It’s been painfully slow. The company then temporarily suspended new subscriptions for ChatGPT Plus due to a surge in usage that exceeded their capacity.

Things don’t look too good for OpenAI and the millions of marketers that rely on GPT-4. Watch this space.
