Does AI know your customers better than you do?
Dan Shipper, Co-Founder and CEO of Every, found that ChatGPT knows him better than his own girlfriend.
This got us thinking⌠Does AI know your customers better than you do? And if so, should you use it to take the lead when creating new marketing campaigns?
Hereâs how to put this hypothesis to the test.
An experiment for marketers
Gather customer data: Collect data from multiple sources like social media, customer support logs, emails, and surveys, ensuring data anonymization for privacy.
Segment customers: Use the categorize customers into different groups based on age, location, purchase history, etc.
Generate segment profiles: Use GPT-4 to process the data and generate detailed profiles for each customer segment.
Design A/B testing campaigns: Create two versions of a marketing campaign per segmentâone based on GPT-4 insights and another based on your marketing team's understanding. Launch and monitor these campaigns.
Evaluate and iterate: After running the campaigns for at least a month, evaluate their success. Use insights to refine customer profiles, update GPT-4's training, and optimize future marketing strategies.
OpenAI rolls out web browsing, plug-ins, and code interpreter to ChatGPT Plus users
ChatGPT Plus users can now browse the internet, connect ChatGPT to over 70 plug-ins, and use the toolâs Code Interpreter capabilities.
Hereâs how to get started.
If youâre a ChatGPT Plus user, simply log in and click âSettingsâ. Then, click âBeta featuresâ, and toggle on the web browsing, plugins, and Code Interpreter features.
Thatâs it!

However, note that not all Plus users can access the beta features yet. Theyâre rolling out the capabilities as quickly as possible, so hang tight.
What this means for marketers
As ChatGPT can now use information that was published online after November 2021, the answers will be more accurate and up-to-date. This means less work fact-checking or updating its output.
With the code interpreter, you can automatically turn data-heavy spreadsheets into amazing graphs or charts. No more messing about manually. It's like having your very own data scientist at your disposal.
Youâll also soon be able to connect ChatGPT to your favorite marketing tools via the plugins function, whether thatâs Hubspot, Mailchimp, or Marketo (to name a few).
Meta teases AI Sandbox capabilities
AI Sandbox will provide generative AI capabilities to help advertisers create better campaigns, more easily. It contains three main features:
Text variation: Automatically generating multiple versions of ad copy
Background generation: Creates different background images from text
Image outcropping: Adjusting reactive assets to fit different aspect ratios across multiple mediums (stories, reels, etc.)

What this means for marketers
Creating adverts for Meta platforms will become quicker and easier.
Youâll just have to give it a kernel of an idea and it will produce multiple ad varieties without you having to put in any manual effort.
It will also make it easier to produce adverts targeting a specific subsection of your audience.
Riddle me thisâŚ
Is it just me, or is ChatGPT kinda funny?

Recommended tools and resources đ§đ đĽ
Anthropicâs AI LLM Claude now has a 100,000-token context window (equal to 75,000 words). This means it can process an entire book like The Great Gatsby in seconds. In comparison, GPT-4âs LLM only has a 4,096-token context window (equal to 3,000 words). You can use Claude at Poe.com.
Eventbrite has announced the integration of new GPT-powered tools. This includes an AI text generator for events, which automatically crafts compelling messaging for your event pages, emails, and social media ads. Fill in your event title, location, and dates, and itâll automatically suggest your event summary and description. It can even provide a relevant AI-generated image if you donât already have one.

Build your very own AI-powered tool with just a single prompt. For example, âA tool that generates three versions of a product description based on inputted dataâ, or âA tool that analyzes a websiteâs SEO and suggests improvementsâ.
