Salesforce goes all in on marketing AI

CRM giant Salesforce just announced that it will soon launch two generative AI products, Marketing GPT and Commerce GPT.

Marketing GPT will allow users to interact with their Marketing Cloud system using natural language, while Commerce GPT will focus on creating personalized shopping experiences at scale.

These new tools will significantly streamline workflows in the Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud. Salesforce will gradually roll them out to customers throughout this summer.

What marketers need to know

  • Marketing GPTā€™s Segment Creation will allow marketers to rapidly create audience segments and improve targeting using natural language prompts and AI-driven recommendations.

  • Email Content Creation will auto-generate personalized emails, using Salesforceā€™s Einstein GPT.

  • Marketers will also be able to leverage Typefaceā€™s generative AI content platform to create contextual visual assets based on specific brand voice, style guides, and messaging.

  • Commerce GPT will allow marketers to create dynamic product descriptions for digital storefronts and translate these into different languages for target audiences.

  • Salesforce will also release Commerce Concierge, a bot-based solution within Commerce GPT for product discovery, and a separate goals-based commerce tool that will provide actionable insights and recommendations.

Top AI takeaways from LinkedInā€™s ā€˜The B2B Marketing Benchmarkā€™ report

LinkedIn and Ipsos recently surveyed 1,954 global B2B marketing leaders for their ā€˜The B2B Marketing Benchmarkā€™ report.

Unsurprisingly, AI dominated the report.

Here are the key takeaways.

What marketers need to know

  • Just under 1 in 2 B2B marketing leaders are currently using AI applications for marketing.

  • Just over 2 out of 5 B2B marketing leaders say they have a "somewhat good" understanding of how to leverage generative AI marketing tools for B2B marketing campaigns.

  • However, "extremely good" understanding is lower than 1 in 5. (Seems like we need to sign more of the studyā€™s participants up to AI Marketing School!)

  • 75% of B2B marketing leaders say they are likely to use or continue using generative AI to promote business when AI-driven advertising opportunities become available.

  • 62% of B2B marketing leaders claim they have a good understanding of how to promote business using generative AI in marketing campaigns. There's excitement around and eagerness to embrace the technology.

  • 81% of marketers currently using Generative AI plan on increasing their usage over the next year.
