AI IN ACTION

Rank my three AI-generated ad copies

Writing this newsletter’s great fun—but it doesn’t bring home the bacon. Not yet, at least.

By day, I’m a freelance B2B copywriter/content strategist. I’ve worked with the likes of HSBC, Microsoft, Dropbox, and more.

Shameless client name-dropping, I know.

And for the first time in longer than I can remember, I have some space free for new projects.

So I thought I’d see if I could find my next client with AI.

How? By using ChatGPT to create ad copy following three marketing legends’ principles:

  1. David Ogilvy

  2. Kris Jenner

  3. Alex Hormozi

AI influencer update

Click the image to follow our AI influencer

Earlier this week, we began our AI influencer experiment by launching Naomi Knight’s instagram account.

Thanks to everyone who’s followed the account—and if you haven’t already then please give her a follow!

Here’s our latest update.

Progress dashboard

* Subscriber Matthew Lutz, fCMO of crypto event Quantum Miami, reached out to schedule a preliminary chat about a potential partnership.

We’ll let you know how it goes!

Lessons learnt

  • Create your own server in Midjourney’s Discord rather than using the ‘Newbies’ ones. This way, you’ll only see your images and they won’t get lost in a sea of other users’ new creations.

  • The InsightFaceSwap bot is an easy way to swap a pre-saved face into your creations. It’s super handy if you want to create consistent characters. Learn how to use it here.

  • Liking users’ comments on similar accounts didn’t attract followers. However, engaging with thoughtful comments was more successful (but also more time-consuming).

Next week’s strategy

  • Step 1: Ask ChatGPT and Claude to create a range of comments that we can use when high-profile accounts post about Naomi’s ‘interests’.

  • Step 2: Identify 5 influencers in each of these areas. If we engage with these accounts then their followers will see (and might end up following Naomi).

  • Step 3: Make a spreadsheet for each interest, adding the 5 influencers’ profile URLs and potential comments that we can use (courtesy of ChatGPT/Claude).

  • Step 4: Use Phantombuster’s Instagram Auto Commenter tool to leave meaningful comments. We’ll regularly cycle through each interest area by changing the spreadsheet the tool uses (e.g. changing the one with motorcycle influencers and comments to the one with crypto-relevant information).

BONUS RESOURCES

Here are a few great AI marketing resources and tools that we’ve come across recently. Enjoy!

  1. AI for Marketers Summit (sponsored)

Don't miss the AI for Marketers Summit this November 15-16! CMOs & VPs of top brands will share how to leverage AI to optimize your marketing strategy, including generative AI, marketing operations, personalization, customer experience, brand-building, and more. Use code AIMS10 for 10% off.

  2. AI robots infiltrated an NFL game with a secret mission

A horde of AI robots was recently spotted at an NFL game to promote an upcoming movie, "The Creator." Arguably the creepiest example of AI marketing that we’ve seen. Question is: Were they actually robots? The jury’s out.

  3. ChatGPT traffic slips again for third month in a row

ChatGPT usage has fallen for the third consecutive month after some have questioned whether its performance is waning. Is this bad news for OpenAI or merely because schools have been on vacation over the summer?
